Selection Camp June 17-23 2017

So I just came back from one long week from selection camp at Mexico Missouri. This kind of camp is kind of different than regular sport camp I usually go to. This camp is mostly focus on the sport you were selected for, example...I was selected for Athletics (Track & Field) We would wake up early in the morning to take meds and walk four miles around the track, then breakfast time! Then at 8am-12pm is training. Then one hr for rest time. But it usually is like 10-15 mins lol Then we would have afternoon activities, such as fishing (I caught a big cat fish),noodle hockey, team building training, bike cycle, kickball, and disk golf. And dinner would be at 6pm, after that it would be afternoon activity, such as....relay, dance, scavenger hunt. I was very excited to be able to go to selection camp and to have this experience. I learned a few things as well, like I can run an 200 m run, and throw a shock put. But overall, it was a great experience, and I made new friends and saw some old friends, that's a plus!

Summer Games June 2-4, 2017

Hello fellow readers & bloggers,
WOW what a FUN weekend I had this past weekend! I went to Springfield Missouri at Missouri State University to attend the State Summer Games. My brother and I compete in Track and Field. This year was my 2nd year to participate in state for track and field and my brother's first year to stay with team (like I usually do) and participate in Track and Field. We both really enjoyed it. So I been watching the weather for this weekend, and they were predicting thunderstorms for the whole weekend, and guess what, IT DID NOT RAIN! Hip Hip Horary! I was so glad it didn't. Overall, I got one silver in Running long jump, one bronze in 100 meter run and one gold medal each in 1x400 relay and in Softball throw. I was so excited about the results I received! Jesse got a gold, a silver and one bronze. I was very proud of me and happy for him as well! The dance was great! Jesse loved the dance, (felt a little sprinkle, but not much) This year at state, they add another activity and that was Kickball, I didn't attend that, but I heard it was a BIG hit! My brother attend the Bingo as well, and he won a shirt! :) I was in the Open ceremony with my fellow TLC (Training for life Campus) classmates, and I was also one of four other athletes (Out standing athlete winners) who held up a Special Olympics Flag. That was neat! Overall, the best part was to compete in my events and of course seeing my friends around Missouri I haven't seen in awhile. Thank you Special Olympics Missouri for another great State competition! Below you will see pic that will confirm the FUN my brother and I had!

Aquantic Swim meet 5-7-17

This year's swim meet was in independence. I went for support for my SOMO team and for the high school I went too (Oak Grove High) it was a lot of fun! But it was kind of hot in the place, but I expected that. Everyone did very well! One of my friend's Shaquana did the opening speech, she did a great job! I saw some friends, enjoyed seeing them! At the end of the tournament my dad took us to a Mexican restaurant, and let me tell you, de-lious! So we had another Special Olympics busy weekend!

Soccer Clinic 5-6-17

Well I know I'm a little late on this post, but you know the saying better late then never. Lol. My brother, some of my teammates from my Special Olympics team went to a soccer clinic on Saturday May 6. We meet up with our buddy and did some soccer drills, play shark (soccer style) had snacks  then played a couple soccer games. That was fun! It's been awhile snceni played soccer like that. We got our certificate after that. I got the most helpful and my brother jesse got the most competitive. We each got a balloon to take home, we gave ours to our little cousins. But I accidentley let my brother's balloon got away, my bad. Lol after the soccer clinic, our parents took us to lunch, Chinese, my favorite kind of food! Well that was soccer clinic, can't wait until next year. The pics are below :) I also enjoyed getting to know my buddy this year as well!

MU Day 2017 4-8-17

Yesterday I went to Columbia Missouri to participate in National Student Day at Mizzou. In other words MU Day! I went last year, it was my first year, I really enjoyed it!! So when we got to Columbia, I got us lost, I took all the blame. I was thinking it was located at the same place, but I didn't read the flyer correctly

. We were a little late but that was ok. :) I had the same buddy as I had last year. When we first arrive, we signed in, and met our buddies. Then we played dodge ball. That was fun! My friend that I met at Special Olympics Sports camp, Mary was there. I was excited to see her again. After dodge ball, we had lunch. Lunch was good, had Mac & Cheese, a cookie, barbeque sandwich. Visit with some people, took some funny pics, and went to a MU softball game. That was fun. Jesse had fun too! Enjoyed spend the day with Shaquana as well! On our way home we stopped by a gas station and McDonald's. We all had shakes. Then all three of us were tired (Jesse, Shaquana & I. We got home around and or before 5:00pm. We picked up pizza, but neither of us was hungry at all. We got cleaned up and just relaxed. Shaquana and I watched two movies, sad ones, but good. Watched a little bit of "Titanic" and almost finished "The Notebook" we were too tired to finish it. On Sunday, everyone got up and went to Church then Chinese buffet. Then Shaquana's sister picked her up. I had a FANTASTIC trip!! I sure hope Shaquana enjoyed her self as well. Shaquana and I always planned of a sleepover and we finally got it...a year later lol.
